TWO men aged 22 and 21 have been charged with murder after a father-of-four was shot dead in his western Sydney home on new year's eve.
Police found 25-year-old Matthew Hedges suffering a gunshot wound after being called to Chester Hill, in the early hours of December 31.
He later died at the scene.
Media reports at the time said Mr Hedges, who had been released from jail not long before the shooting, had been lying in bed with his girlfriend when the attack took place.
Detectives raided three homes in south-western Sydney around 6am (AEDT) today and arrested the two men.
They were charged with murder and are scheduled to face Bankstown Local Court later today.
A third man was arrested at Condell Park home and faces charges unrelated to the shooting.
